We’re already rolling into 2018 in a big way! Here at Blue Mobius Marketing, we moved into a new office, are adding another position to the team, and are excited for all the new year has to offer.
Since many businesses are seeking ways to improve their social media presence, as we move forward into 2018, it seemed only fitting to share some simple resolutions you should make–and keep–to ensure a great social media strategy in 2018.
Resolution #1: Plan, Plan, Plan!
With winter still in full swing, it’s a great time to plan for the coming months and set goals for the year. Look ahead to upcoming events, trade shows, and planned changes within your organization (like a pending product launch). Consider how you need to plan in advance, to ensure a strategy is followed and to avoid a reactionary approach.
Maybe you want to start regularly blogging for your company, in support of your social media and digital strategy, but aren’t sure where to start. Beginning an editorial calendar is a great way to lay the foundation and hold yourself accountable to follow through.
Resolution #2: Stay Active
One of the best ways to grow your brand and get more folks following along with your story is to regularly and reliably post quality content to all of your social media accounts. Stay active!
This doesn’t mean you have to post perfectly-polished, painstakingly researched content everyday. Your followers love to see what you do, whether that’s coffee with clients or fun within the workplace. Posting regular, relevant content shows that you’re committed to your brand, the industry you represent, and are a thought leader. Don’t be afraid to speak up and allow social media to be a window into your world.
Resolution #3: Stay Engaged!
Once you create a plan and begin sticking to it, the next most important part is the interactions. Social media is a powerful tool for many reasons, but one of the best parts is that you get to communicate with customers (and future customers!) in real-time, low pressure ways. Social media is designed to be social–as the name indicates. It sounds obvious and silly to share that reminder but engagement is so often overlooked and neglected.
If a customer comments on a post, for instance, write back as the brand. Tools like Facebook Business make it very convenient to talk to your customers and provide them with the information they need no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Whether that’s the hours of your business or feedback about your products or services, those first interactions can mean lots of open doors and opportunities moving forward.
We hope these help you and your brand begin a successful and exciting new year. Don’t feel overwhelmed by any of this! We’re only a quick phone call or email away and are always excited to chat about how you can strengthen online relationships, generate interest in your organization, and really win big over social media in 2018!
